Manchow soup is a soup popular
in Indian Chinese cuisine due
to its ease of preparation and hot spicy taste.
It is available in large restaurants and street food carts
alike. Although the soup is named for Manchuria,
the soup does not resemble any that is normally found in the cuisines of the
region.
It
is a dark brown soup prepared with various vegetables, scallions,
and chicken (in
the non-vegetarian version
only), thickened with stock and corn
flour, and flavored with relatively generous doses
of soy
sauce, salt, garlic and chili
peppers. It may also be garnished with
chopped scallions. (Description Courtesy- Wikipedia)
This soup stuck into my mind from the day I heard it from my colleague that he had it from one of my favorite restaurants (I never went through these soups sections as I had least interest on it). He had it during winter time and explained that it is something superb to have during cold seasons. To be honest, my mouth watered that time (don't know whether he suffered its after effect :-p ). So I didn't forget to order this tempting soup in my next visit to this same restaurant and thus I tasted this yummy goodness. It was spicy at the same time it had lot of flavors in it. The whole soup was finished with a crispy noodle topping which really made it yummy!!!! I tried to recreate this soup and am posting it here. It is very easy to make.
